Custom Web Design

Many people want a website. Once they get one they seem to be frustrated that it doesn’t look the way they imagined. Most hosting providers will give you their generic templates to work from. This is sufficient enough for a lot of people who are looking for something inexpensive and functional. Given, you’re not going to get the results that you could have with a customized website, but if your purpose is to have a web space for personal use (photo albums, family updates, personal journal, etc.) then spending some money on custom designing isn’t going to be that important to you. However, if you are wanting your website to attract reoccurring visitors or if you are selling products, I would highly recommend that you spend some time learning XHTML/CSS and designing a website that is enhanced and sends out the functions you want to have.

I’ve spent a lot of time teaching myself XHTML/CSS. If you do not have a passion for creating websites, this isn’t going to work for you. It takes time to learn the basics and design the site you are hoping for. Some learn faster than others and have a knack for it. Some do not have the time to spend learning custom coding. This expertise takes years to perfect. A quick way to get a design you are looking for, is to hire a web designer or send a request to a company of how you want your layout to be structured, and within a week you’ll have what you want. Yes, this does cost money. People are offering you a service that took them time (some cases years) and went to school to learn these skills, so a fee to help pay off a student loan in graphic design isn’t too much when you really consider what they are doing for you.

This link will take you to an area that has a lot of options for Custom Web Design. Get a free quote for the services you want, and then decide if its the right thing for you.

Mint

Looking for a better way to manage your money?  Mint.com can help you keep the greenbacks in your pocket.  Realizing how much is spent on mocha lattes, burgers and fries can really put things in perspective.  I'm leaving the debit card when I go out.  Cash only.  Credit cards are a great way to build your credit, but if you don't have the money now or even in the future, how are you going to pay it off?   Say hello to interest rates...

Site Copier

Do you have a website you want to move but don't want to rebuild it? Mysite comes with a Site Copier tool that allows you to copy your entire site over to your new one.  You can make it your default site again, or you can just copy it into another folder so that you have it saved and create a new layout if that is what you're interested in doing.  All you need is your site name and password to make it work.  It will save you from all the stress!

Free Web Hosting!

I found a wonderful hosting provider for FREE!! In this day and age you can't get anything for free, so its a nice change.

Mysite.com! gave me 50 MB of disk space for free! For a lot of users a free account can get you what you need. I think most people just want something on the web, and you need to have something on the web because its what everyone uses to find services and people. They have a nice Rich Text Editor so that I can change the colors of my font and the styles. The photo album is probably my favorite feature. I'm actually thinking about upgrading my account because I want to have the stats and reports to see who is visiting my site and how often. The Personal Hosting looks like the best offer. It even comes with Wordpress!! I'm a Wordpress fanatic so that is like having an upgraded hosting account and advanced blog for the price of one! Wordpress makes you pay a lot more than Mysite.com for what I want to do, so I'm going with them.

If any of you want to get a site, I highly recommend Mysite.com!

This blog will be about several things that peak my interests.  HTML/CSS, web site design, my favorite web hosting provider, where to find good FREE templates and how to edit them.  I always find it a little humoring when you're able to download a template made from Photoshop but not make any changes to it, so I'll be putting a few tips on what kind of templates will be easier for you to edit.  Similar to a Dummy Book for Websites.
Of course I'll be adding my own meandering thoughts and other areas that peak my interest.
